These images show the popular hairstyles of the late 70s and early 80s, which have inspired me to choose quite a natural, loose hairstyle for my shoot.

I have been looking at the band 'Bananarama' to understand the styling and popular fashion of that era.

Uta Barth

I looked at these images by the photographer, Uta Barth, after looking at the noisy, distorted effect of some of the old photographs of my mum. Uta Barth uses deliberate blurring to achieve this effect.

Jun Tan Photography 'Behind the Scenes'

I chose these images due to the hazy summer atmosphere, which have a similar mood to the images i have chosen of my mum. I also liked the glare of the sun on the camera, giving a distorted effect.
